    The purpose of the role is to provide candidate research and resourcing/research support for Consultants to ensure that Clients are provided with highly matched candidates for their recruitment assignments.

    Sharpstream Life Sciences is a rapidly growing company with ambitious plans to expand further. With offices currently in London and Philadelphia, there are plans to open offices in Shanghai (early 2008), Switzerland and the West Coast of the USA by the end of 2008. In line with these plans for further growth, we are seeking talented Recruiters to join our international and diverse London team of professional Search Consultants and in-house Researchers who have strong scientific and commercial knowledge. At Sharpstream Life Sciences we operate on the basic principles of team work, training and development.

    Upon joining our team, you will be provided with an intensive training programme which will ensure that you are equipped with the skills and industry knowledge to provide our clients with a high level of quality consulting service. Following this, you will have the benefit the guidance of internal experts and externally provided training.

  • Role Responsibilities

    Assignment Kick-Off

    •  To draft a research plan in advance of the kick off meeting for a new assignment based on initial documents such as the job description and Project Scope Summary.
    • In conjunction with a Consultant, agree a clear research plan with key deadlines and deliverables in terms of research.To keep the Consultant regularly informed of progress, highlighting any concerns or problems as they arise.
    • To submit an end of week report to your Director summarizing your project work to date using the standard report template

    Secondary Research

    • To create Target Long Lists from available sources for generating potential candidates including Profile database, external databases, in house lists, internet and publications.
    • To build shortlists of candidates for specific recruitment assignments based on the brief from a Recruitment Consultant from the above sources.
    • To create Profile records for all new entries as a result of research activities ensuring that as much information is entered as possible. Especially, career history, codes and source of information.
    • To conduct secondary research for business development purposes as required.
    • To continuously review incoming publications such as Pharmaceutical Marketing, Pharmaceutical Times, DIA Journal, Research etc for names.  Create Profile records for all new people or update where a record exists.

    Primary Research

    • To conduct primary research against a specific criteria for retained assignments to identify potentially suitable individuals for a role.  This will be telephone based and international. 
    • To complete a research matrix and create a Long List in Profile or Target suitable individuals to the opportunity as agreed with the responsible Consultant. 
    • To create new Profile records for new people or update details for existing records.

    Reviewing Applications

    • To review applications for allocated job opportunities generated through advertising and send an appropriate response to all candidates after receiving their CVs.
    • To review subscribed candidate databases such as Monster and Pharmajobs on a weekly basis.
    • To create a Profile record for suitable candidates i.e. those with pharmaceutical experience.  Target those who are suitable for a specific job and complete a pre screen questionnaire (see section for Prescreening).
    • To ensure that the source of candidate applications is recorded consistently and accurately in Profile for reporting purposes.
    • To create candidate records in Profile and send a response as requested by a Consultant who has received a CV directly.

    Interview Scheduling

    • To schedule interviews between candidates and clients as directed by a Consultant, keeping the Consultant updated on progress.
    • To make the necessary travel arrangements through Sharpstream Life Sciences’ appointed travel agent.
    • To ensure that accurate records are created, maintained using the company’s CRM system. 

    Advertising

    • Identify suitable media for advertising allocated jobs and assess suitability for advertising.  This will be mainly Internet advertising but will also include traditional forms of advertising.  For traditional magazine and journal adverts, coordinate the production of artwork with the advertising agency.
    • To write effective copy for allocated jobs as necessary using the internal template and get approval from the appropriate Consultant.
    • To post job advertisements on Sharpstream Pharma’s internet job advertising sites and Sharpstream Pharma’s own website. 
    • To monitor posted job adverts on internet sites to ensure that adverts are up to date live jobs are constantly advertised.
    • Analyse the data on recruitment advertising and recommend action as appropriate to the Managing Director.

    General

    • To contribute to team meetings and idea brainstorms to improve service provision to clients and candidates.
    • To cover for other Resourcing Consultants during period of annual leave, sickness etc as instructed by Managing Director.
  • Requirements
  •  

    • A minimum of a Bachelors degree.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Experience working within a customer service environment.
    • Experience working with Microsoft Office.
    • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
